An opening is available in Bose’s Corporate R&D Operations organization for a person with electrical, mechanical, and acoustic laboratory test experience and a desire to apply that experience to new product development. As a member of Bose’s team of product development experts, you will work with engineers at Bose and at our vendors to ensure the quality and reliability of Bose’s products. This is an exciting opportunity to have a direct impact on the design and delivery of world-leading audio solutions, while working in an innovative and technically stimulating environment.
Job Description:
    Establish local test methods and procedures in support of new product development.  Use expertise in test methods to train engineers and technicians on proper test execution and equipment operation to maintain consistency and accuracy in test results.
   &nbsperform testing as needed to support projects from HED, NRT, PSD, and ASD divisions. Schedule, setup, and conduct testing on diverse new and existing products and electro-mechanical components. Troubleshoot and perform analysis of test failures leading to root cause determination of failure.
   &nbsprepare and approve test reports that accurately document test conditions, sample results and findings.
    Support Corporate Validation Engineering by working with vendors to ensure validation requirements are understood and agreed upon with vendors.  Track progress and witness validation testing at vendor locations.
    Support Corporate Quality Engineering by testing pre-production and production units to ensure that products are meeting Bose Quality standards.
    Lead ongoing operations of Shenzhen lab with efforts including budgeting and procurement of new equipment, performing asset and inventory management, equipment maintenance and calibration, equipment scheduling, and general lab maintenance.
    Initiate and implement improvement projects to add capabilities, improve quality or reduce costs of testing and related departmental processes.

Education/Experience/Skills:
BS degree in electrical engineering and a minimum of 2 - 5 years related work experience. MSEE preferred. Mechanical and Acoustic test experience strongly preferred. Strong level of product testing experience including the operation of a wide variety of electrical, mechanical, and acoustic test equipment is required. Familiarity with Labview, Matlab, or other test software development experience preferred. Audio experience preferred. Failure analysis experience a plus.

Excellent written and verbal English proficiency required. The ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a strong commitment to team projects and deadlines is required. Must have a flexible style that accommodates working on multiple projects in collaboration with members of various international organizations and project teams.
