DEKRA accredited for KNX smart building testing

DEKRA's testing laboratory in the Netherlands has been accredited by the KNX Association to test devices compatible with the KNX ecosystem. KNX is the largest interoperability standard for home and building automation worldwide – ensuring comfort, safety and energy efficiency.  

Through a KNX certification, manufacturers can show that their products have been proven to be interoperable and secure by an independent third party. With the KNX ecosystem, architects, designers, contractors, building owners, and users can lower installation and maintenance costs and mitigate risks. In addition to performance, the standard describes high quality requirements for electrical, functional and environmental safety, electromagnetic compatibility, and reliability. 

Exporting products worldwide with KNX
The KNX standard is currently used in 158 countries and has been approved as an International Standard (ISO/IEC 14543-3-1 to 7) as well as a European Standard (CENELEC EN 50090 and CEN EN 13321-1 and -2) and Chinese Standard (GB/T 20965), thus being an essential element in obtaining access to those markets. To date, more than 7,000 certificates have been issued worldwide for more than 400 member companies.

With the KNX accreditation, DEKRA is further securing its position in the growing Internet of Things market.
